He hosts weekly primetime Saturday afternoon show on BBC Radio 6 Music that’s one of the broadcaster’s most popular music shows, helms independent record label Brownswood Recordings, and is the founder of online radio station Worldwide FM.
Throughout his career, Peterson has promoted the new frontiers of jazz, hip-hop, and electronic music. Lefto
Being described by Fact! Magazine as “your favourite dj’s favourite dj” is quite an honor, voted “Best DJ” at the Red Bull Elektropedia Awards Top 100 Category is a real honor; Lefto has proven to be one of the most important tastemakers the old continent has to offer. Consistently ahead of your average early adopters, he doesn’t wait for the next thing, he seeks it out. No wonder he is affiliated to international labels such as Brownswood Recordings, Serato,101 Apparel, Boiler Room, BBE, Ninja Tune, R&S, Blue Note, Tru Thoughts, New Los Angeles and ! K7 Records. Take a peek at the playlists of his weekly two-hour morning show on Worldwide FM or his 780+ radio shows on Belgium’s foremost national fm radio station Studio Brussel, a show that won 3 x Best Radio Show at the Red Bull Elektropedia Awards and received critical acclaim from Rough Trade, Gilles Peterson, MTV and many others. Devoted to the future of music but keeping an ear in the past, Lefto’s background is firmly rooted in jazz and rap music and sharpened his sensibility working at the local record store in Brussels. That passion resulted in a release on Blue Note, a remix album with partner in crime at that time Krewcial. Famed for taking his crowd around the world during his gloriously eclectic sets, expect the unexpected as he switches effortlessly between genres. Blessing sound systems around the globe with residencies in Belgium, Japan and South-Korea, he also curates his own nights in Belgium and the Netherlands and a stage at Dour Festival, the European Award winning festival.

His latest release ‘I Know You See Me’ is the first offering on Brownswood for Kassa Overall. As Time Out New York frames his talent, Overall is “a Renaissance man: part chopsy, super-funky jazz drummer, and part rising producer-MC.” Since the January 2019 release of his critically acclaimed debut album Go Get Ice Cream and Listen to Jazz, NYC and global audiences have had the opportunity to experience Overall’s singular brilliance, which has been embraced with rave reviews from Afropunk to the New York Times.
