Presenting The Full Spectrum of Jazz
Spotlighting Social Justice, Gender, Multi-Disciplines
For the first time in our 17-year history, NYC Winter Jazzfest will not be presented in person due to the challenges of this pandemic. However the commitment to showcasing talent and lifting concerns of our community has not wavered. This season will feature artists across disciplines in performance and conversation about the issues of our time. Programs will be presented in partnership with the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice, The New School, SummerStage, and Voices of a People's History of the United States. All programs are FREE and open to the public.
FERTILE GROUNDS
JANUARY 13th - 7pm
Fertile Grounds brings together visionary artists - jazz musicians and multidisciplinary artists - across disciplines to discuss their inspirations, and pursuits through their creative practice. While Jazz is at the heart of WJF's work, the imagination, introspection and ingenuity of the artists we present is not only found in this genre, or even just in the work of musicians. Fertile Grounds is a celebration and an acknowledgement of the expansive spirit of creativity which feeds, moves and inspires us.
Featuring Nate Lewis, Kassa Overall
