APPEARING @ MANHATTAN MARATHON AT THE BITTER END (Paris Jazz Stage)

Hailing from Paris, Monsieur MÂLÂ is a combo made of 5 sought-after musicians with their own personal identities. Consisting of Swaéli Mbappé on bass (China Moses), Yoann Danier on drums (Mayra Andrade) , Nicholas Vella on keys (Mayra Andrade), Balthazar Naturel on saxophone and Robin Antunes on violin and mandolin, the group transcend the borders between jazz, pop, world and urban music.

Their successful EPs have been championed by the likes of Gilles Peterson on BBC Radio 6 and Worldwide FM, as well as finding support across Jazz FM and BBC Introducing, giving them a gateway into establishing a UK audience before a debut UK headline at the legendary Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London. One of their videos was also premiered and hosted by Snarky Puppy's label GroundUp Music and is sitting at over 20k views.

In winter 2018, Balthazar Naturel, Robin Antunes, Nicholas Vella, Swaéli Mbappé and Yoann Danier thought of a quintet focused on their own compositions, arranged collectively and exclusively orally. Each one of them already has a strong identity as musician. Luxury sidemen, they have collaborated with many international musicians and artists like Kassav, Mayra Andrade, CHASSOL, Blick Bassy, Ibrahim Maalouf, Sinclair, China Moses, François Jeanneau, Arcadian, Etienne Mbappé, Jean-Luc Ponty, Nguyen Lê, Paco Sery, Jean- Marie Ecay, Hippocampe Fou, and Ernesto Tito Puentes.
