In celebration of the pioneering astral traveler, Pique-nique Recordings and NYC Winter Jazzfest are proud to present Nate Mercereau & friends performing Pharaoh Sanders' "Elevation". This event is part of Pique-nique Recordings' Take Two series, an immersive deep-listening night consisting of two elements: an uninterrupted, high-quality playback of a seminal jazz album, followed by a modern-day reinterpretation by forward-thinking musicians. Known for creating serene soundscapes, Mercereau's performance will combine modulated electronics, luscious percussion, and a spiritually-informed musicality throughout this improvised take on an iconic record.
